I am conflicted, I hear it’s super healthy, you can put it in your coffee, in your hair, use it as a moisturizer, cook with it and also put it on wounds for faster healing…
Just as I start using it in my coffee, I read, “It’s BAD,” “Don’t Use It”, it clogs your arteries and causes cardiac distress! Blah, Blah, Blah …(because that’s what I hear when I don’t want to hear it!) Ugh, I thought, “it’s only been a couple days in my coffee, I’m good”, but what is the truth??
I can tell you, I have used it in my hair until my Daughter yelled at me and said, “why are you using something that you cook with in your hair”, Yikes, first of all why is my child making so much sense right now and I thought, well she’s right, if I curl my hair it’s only going to burn it, so I stopped immediately.
I have used it on wounds and I can tell you 100% this works to speed healing. I will sometimes use a dab of it on my legs before the gym for some extra little shine and a healthy glow….
I do like to cook with it because it can be used with high heat, however, do not walk away from the stove while heating it up, the white cloud of smoke might be pretty but the smell and sound of the smoke alarm are both horrendous. Yes, I do know this first hand and that’s all I’m going to say about that! Ha!
After some research and reading, the majority of the articles claim that not only is Coconut Oil healthy for you, it actually lowers cholesterol, provides anti-microbial properties which is great for the immune system and provides energy. What a relief! I will continue to use it in my coffee for sure!! However, I will leave it out of my hair for now 😊
